We have carefully chosen our first village to help and it will be Cîzlar in the Leova District.
Cîzlar has a population of 126 people, including 27 children and 16 seniors 65+.
In our research we have learned that the village have been neglected by many of the previous mayors, so when the current mayor, Mr. Pavel Constantinov heard about our project, he fully supported our mission.
We have already been to the village several times during our research and found 3 families in critical need of help.
First family is a young couple in start 20´s who have two small children. Second family is a middle aged couple in their 40´s. Third is an 87 year old woman.
All the families are dealing with the same problems, windows that either have a lot of glass missing, rotting frames, warped wood that makes the windows impossible to close. The doors of these home are having same problems.
Beside wanting to help the families to have a warm, healthy and safe home, we are looking to help the entire village to become more united. The village has a community house that is not able to be used often due to problems with heating, bad windows and dangerous sanitation facilities. Here we are working on a plan to improve the community house, so it will be able to be used a lot more and especially during the cold months of the year.
The people of the village and the mayors office have already welcomed us with so much kindness, so we know we choose the right place for our first project.
